It was a Bad, Bad Day for Cancer Boy

well that kind of says it all, i had the Biopsy last week and it came back positive, real positive, glow in the dark positive, Black light poster positive, well you get the idea, but it is kind of funny to remember black light posters.

so with out a whole bunch of words it boils down to this, there are a few options, first of all they all involve me getting a new MRI of the head and neck as fast as they can, this is the first time i have ever see the word "STAT" written on a medical form, let alone in bright, thick red pen.

1. The do a MRI and determine that they cannot operate on me (right now it is only 50% that they can) we do nothing(which is a medical possibility) and i will have 6 to 9 months, yes you read that right.
2. The do a MRI and determine that they can operate on me (right now it is only 50% that they can) they will either attack(operate) from the exterior and remove all the soft tissue from my neck, mouth, and soft palate and skin graft it all back and i have a 20% prognosis for 3 years.
3. They do option 2, but attack(operate) from the interior of my mouth, well that is after the break my jaw open and the rest is the same as option 2.
4. We do chemo while trying to decide on the 3 above options to buy me some time and then go from there, we are working on option 4 now while trying to decide on options 1-3

My doctor has prior commitments and his team cannot operate on me till 02/15/2011 at the earliest, he is getting me a second opinion with the ENT group over at some place called USC, i just shiver typing those initials, they are going to do the second opinion this week and they might end up doing the operation there before my Doctor.

and no i am not kidding, don't even ask that,

so in a nutshell this is it, i have a 20% chance of lasting 2 years, if i do nothing i have around 9 months, i so hate fridays.
