well all the normal radiation treatments are done, its now time for 11 days of boosters, what is a booster you ask? as i said yesterday i don't know, but i did find out today.
a booster series is where they go back and hit just the tumor area, in a more fine detail series of shots.
the first 29 shots are just targeting the tumor, the nodes infected and a wider area to make sure it does not spread out, they blasted a couple extra nodes that were not infected to make sure the little bugger did not spread, now the boosters will go back and target the known infected area, the tumor, the known infected nodes and skin area. so this is good on a couple points,
1. its only 11 days and i would rather be safe then sorry.
2. the area that they been targeting, that are not in the booster area will start healing now, that does truly excite me.
well i did something i did not think i would do today, since we are coming up on a 3 day weekend i asked Dr. Kwon if i could pass on radiation tomorrow, run a 4 day weekend of no radiation and let my throat and mouth heal up, he was OK with that, because as he says "your mouth is a wreck"
so all i have to do is go for a round of chemo tomorrow and then come back home and rest for 4 days, i think i can do that.
