well today i had the Chemo bag removed, last week if you remember i started Chemo and they sent me home with a "chemmie" bag (a doggie bag in a way, a bad way) so i had to stop by the infusion center today and have them remove the bag, that only took a couple of minutes and i was out of there, well till this Thursday that is, when i start treatment 1.1, 4 hour infusion of Erbitux (i don't know the generic name, and now i am to lazy to look it up) but that should only take a couple of hours to do, i hope.
Side effects to date, nausea, and a general malaise, i just don't feel right, i could stand being sick, i can stand being well, but it's that middle ground that just sucks all to hell.
I will stop by the "cath lab" on Thursday after i am done with the infusion so they can have a quick peek at my porta-cath to make sure that is healing all right, if there is no infection i can take a nice, long full shower, small joys you know, small joys.
aside from that all seems to be going well, i was able to work this round of chemo, so that's good, i can't do early mornings anymore for now, just not up to it, and as my friend says, "you need to take care of yourself now" like that's ever worked for me, but i promised i would try.
Just so you know, Chemo is part of the plan to reduce the tumor so that they can remove it easier, seems i cannot get out of that "operation" thing, it's gonna happen whether i like it or not, well i don't like it, but it's going to happen i guess, i sound so positive huh? I am going to have a trech(sp) tube in for a couple of months, and a feeding tube, i guess we will have to start the weight loss pool up again, see if we can make someone a few buck, i promise i will not join in this time, i was accused of manipulating the outcome to make some money, me? are you kidding? i would never do that...whistles..
Since i will not be able to talk for a couple months (stop the damn cheering) or at least not well, i am looking at small tablet PC units to communicate with, you know, like an Ipad, Motorola Xoom, LG G-pad if you have any suggestions please let me know, if you have any experiences with any of the above, let me know the plus/minuses of the units you used, i figured it would be better then wasting a bunch of paper or carrying around a "dry-erase" board.
well that's all for tonight, take care, i am watching a movie with the bug (my cat)
