A quick followup to yesterdays meeting with the chemo man,
I had an appointment with Dr. Reddy late yesterday and it was finally some good news, last i saw him he was taking a sample of my tumor and shipping it off for DNA analysis, the report came back this week.
Seems the type of tumor i have along with the type of DNA i have makes a drug called "erbitux" the best choice, which is real good. It means that i will have to go only once every couple of weeks for treatment instead of 10 days on and off cycle.
another piece of good news is that DNA seems to be very reparitive, its super strong which at the same time makes me a poor candidate for conventional chemotherapy if i ever should need it, which is kind of bad in a way.
The Dr. Seemed real happy with the results, at least he now knows that doing shotgun chemo (as a lot do) will be ineffective on me, and the erbitux is the way to go, so i get to start that this week.
I have spent most of the day sleeping, as some know i don't sleep that well, never have, but i have slept around 7 hours today, just tired and worn out, stress will do that to you.
