Dentist Part 2 07/16/2009

Well, the dentist was fun, i went yesterday at 07/15/2009 at 0900 well it was OK, well that's because he was in the middle of an emergency and i was reprieved for and extra hour, so score, it all worked out.

well the dentist and I had a great chat about dental care, how it will be necessary to very vigilant in care of my teeth after the radiation treatment, because i will be more prone to cavities, but i will get a special fluoride paste to help and that we need to remove two teeth..

wait, back up, what?

yes, well one full tooth, there was a defect in the root of a tooth, usually not a big deal, but since they will be pumping in more radiation then Chernobyl and the time constraint out it comes.

the other one was two shreds left over from a root canal i had done in 2000 and forgot to get capped so out they came, they will be fixed after treatment.

now another reason for me to slap the doc that misdiagnosed this.

But the Dentist has the greatest hours i have ever seen, he was able to get my teeth done and the mouth pieces done this morning at 06.30, yes, as in before 7am, my type of guy, i was all done before most of you had your first cup of coffee.

He also had a great sense of humor, he slipped and dinged one of my teeth with an instrument and without missing a beat comes back with "can i interest you in some cosmetic dentistry"?

there was nothing wrong, he just likes to joke, because i warned him i am not "dentist" friendly so he was trying to keep me relaxed.

so i look at my personal cellphone tonight before i sat down to do this and there was a message from him, asking how i was doing, reminding me that i was to see hm in the morning for a followup on the mouth pieces and to call him if needed.

not a bad guy, well even though he went to USC, i will let him slide.

The only bad part of the whole trip was when the tooth came out it causes swelling, and that caused it to swell up all the tissue around the tumor, which hurts like my last paycheck.

so next will be the fitting into the radiation machine, lets take a bet if i am to big for the unit, or how many times i will need to be folded.

later all, well for some of you, see you tomorrow.

What a find, a dentist who isn't morose or thinks he is Lenny Bruce LOL. I'll say it again, I think you have a solid team, that has to be a real comfort. Don't sweat the stent, it is little more than a scratch after a few days you won't even notice it. Thanks for keeping us apprised of things.... sends good mojo!!!
